B Company, 32nd Battalion Tug of War Team.

Sporting events were an important part of life for the Australian soldiers in World War 1

Albert VINALL, and other 32nd Battalion men were proud of the reputation of their Tug-of-War team. This photo was taken during Christmas 1917 at Desvres, FRANCE.

From left to right in the rear row they are:

Privates F. BEDSON, 'Snowy' JACOBS, Leo REDMAN, Tom EDWARDS (killed Jan. 1918),and Peter CAMERON.

In the second row are:

Privates J.G. BROWN, W. MARTIN, Captain A. CAMPBELL, and Lance Corporal Sid BURNS

Sitting at the front are Private SIMMONS and Private Edward 'Ted' ROSSITER, who was a stretcher bearer.
