Albert VINALL, and Claude G. JONES, were both 'runners' in the 32nd Battalion of the A.I.F.

This Photograph was taken in Wardrecques, BELGIUM on the 1st August, 1917. Both of the men are wearing the standard Australian uniform, the British Pattern 1908 web equipment and a box respirator in a haversack on their chest. The steel helmets were supplied by the British in an effort to reduce the number of head wounds suffered by the soldiers.

Private Claude JONES survived until 1982.
