i saw a blank firing beretta for sale in the paper a few weeks ago. should have snapped it up i guess.  is it just that sales are banned or posession is illegal or what? does anyone have or had a glock blank gun and know how close they are to the real deal? i guess if you own a glock blank gun you wont be able to buy spare parts for them anymore so would you be able to use real glock parts to repair a damaged blank gun?

thanks.

hey fellas, blank firers are still available is SA, Glocks, CZ75, Barettas, Colt1911 ++, start at about 400 up to 700, crazy money ? You can't inter-change any parts from a real glock to a blank firer, completely different inside, they are made by Kimar and Bruno, both from Italy. Kimars the better quality one. I believe that SA Guns laws are about to change that you can only purchase one if you have a firearms license, Class H in SA.  hope this helps. As of today 7.07.2009 you can still buy them.

Hi they have only stopped the  importation  of the blank guns  to australia , collectors of WA and Qld can still own them provided  you are sensible and dont go around carrying them in public or using them  to create fear to the general public ,common  sense really .

The grey area is that you can legally sell them to people 18 +provided they live in the correct states ,as there defined as toys in western australia as are replica guns and a blank gun that isnt loaded with blanks is just a replica pistol really (a highly realistic  one) ,Thats why people can sell them for high prices because the ones already here are the only ones your going to get.take it or leave it

QLD Collectors can not possess a blank firer, unless it has been rendered permanently inoperable. Going through that drama now. Approved armourers, Form 31's and the like for a $30 Marushin Blowback, deemed a Blank Firer in QLD, and by Customs. Blank-Fire licence is a completely separate licence, and only issued to Theatrical, Armourers etc.. I was told I need not apply as one would not be issued.

What If you just don't get a license and keep it under radar?

I suppose you could, for anything here in Australia. But for getting hold of something other than a Glock, Colt, Beretta it will make it impossible. And if you get caught. And you have a brace of real firearms, and collectibles, you lose them forever without compensation. Plus your fine.
